With the Cairo speech way back when, Obama was supposed to have fixed in one fell swoop America’s standing in the international community — especially with Muslims in the Middle East.
He was supposed to have undone all of the damage done by the American imperialists who were led by the nefarious George Bush and Dick Cheney.
Obama would usher in an age of world peace that has never been experienced in the history of mankind. OK, I am being sarcastic here, but do remember that he has been referred to as a god.)
Obama Is God Of All Things
So, how’s that working out for you?
Hugo Chavez has just recently referred to Obama as a clown. Chavez also added this bit of advice for the clow…err, I mean president –
“Focus on governing your country, which you’ve turned into a disaster,” Chávez said, according to The Guardian.
Ahmadinejad referred to Obama as an “inexperienced amateur.” Obama’s response to Iran’s attempt to develop nuclear weapons was to request that the UN impose more sanctions on Iran.
(Wonder how well that worked?)
Also, on my way to and from work here in DC, I have seen an advertisement on the side of a bus imploring Obama to “protect Camp Ashraf.” Obama’s inaction may implicate himself as a “war criminal” if he does nothing to prevent the genocide of 3,400 Iranian dissidents.
In early 2004, US armed forces took over security of the camp and gave personal assurances to each and every person living there, designating them as protected persons under the fourth Geneva Convention.
Obama has to take some sort of stand on this issue, but I guess they don’t cover leadership skills in “community organizing” school.
Now, we have Syrians pining for the days of Bush’s “cowboy diplomacy.”
